These 1820s books from Paris, the works of the famous and influentuial French writer, naturalist, mathematician and cosmologist, de Buffon, or Georges-Lousi Le Clerc, Comte de Buffon to give him his full name. He was one of Darwin's main influencers.
The books, printed 200 years ago just round the corner from me in Paris' Rue de Vaugrigard, have delightfully faded and timeworn covers in thick paper and frothy hand cut pages.
Authenic French books with this patina are so hard to come by and display fabulously, I am selling them is sets of three as multiples of three create a pleasing display.
They look every bit of their 200 years of age. There is fading, spine wear, foxed pages, wear to the covers especially the edges - they are absolutely fabulous if you love authentic patina.
They measiure 9" by 5.5" and are of varying thickness.
Sold in sets of 3, there are initially 7 sets availble, choose how many you would like from the pull down menu and shipping will be combined, if and a refund made if they can be shipped more economically.
