An enamel utensil rack was an absolute essential in a traditoinal French kitchen and this is a splendid and unusually pretty example.
The pink and white enamelled flowers with the gold highlights are hand paintedand the slight irregularities in the attractive white dots around the edge suggest they are too, making this a piece from the late 19th century to eaely 20th century.
The blue is that of summer's sky.
There is a bar to hang what ever utendils madame was using and the drips from the cooking fell into the curved bay below.
It is easily wall mounted on two nails, but will also stand on the counter, leaned against the wall.
It is in overall good condition, with signs of its age and use including some knocls to the enamel which have caused loss and some rusting. This includes at the edges of the drip bay.
It measures 20.5" by 13.5"
