Hand made 'struggling' atrist's palette from the Montparnasse artist's corner of Paris. 
 
Not all artists could afford expensive equipment and the painter made this palette from a piece of wood with a thumb hole cut in it, and it's just as effective!
 
This large palette is well used, full of layers of different colour paint, the thumb hole is wonky and the edges are a bit rough and shedding wood dust, the wood is clearly old as you can see from the back.
 
But its wonderful and authentic, so French!
