An impressively moulded large solid and very Quintessentially French statement piece, they use the word 'truc' for something like this in France! It is a magnificent truc as a centerpiece (and it will be heavy to ship, however shipping will only be at cost).
 
I have used it as a candle stick, the top is not flat so I added a wooden coaster to rest the candle on, it's a bit of a puzzle exactly what it is.
 
It is old and very ornate, made of metal, probably spelter. The designs are classical. The plinth is stable, as it has three legs. 
 
The finish is bright gold with signs of aging and some rubs to the finish. There is one piece of the small decorative fringe missing from the top and another is split. A signof its use and history, it can be positioned so these are not immediately visible.
 
It measures 8.5" tall and 7.5" wide.
