A breathtakingly gorgeous lilac lily of the valley compote from Paris, both originally bought in Paris and re-found in Paris too.

It is stamped Rue Drouot which is where the 'Depot' was and dagtes from the late 1800s to very early 1900s. The Drouot emporium was a large and ornate three floor Parisian store bursting with the best of the new style homewares that money could buy, curated and brought to Paris. The Parisians in their new Haussemann apartments flocked there to equip their new grand homes.

This piece appears to have originated from England, many of the French ceramacists trained in the Staffordshire potteries and had close links, with the French designers often specifying patterns to be made there.

This beautifully detailed compote has an intricate transfer design in darker lilac and has signs of its life and use, crazing and staining adding to its charm.

It stands 8.5" diameter and 6" tall.
