A delightful and sumptuous pocket watch display case dating from the Napoleon III era, the second half of the 19th century.
 
A rare find in this delightful condition; the silk has delicately faded and worn to a soft pink, the glass thick and bevelled, refracting light beautuifully, the ormolu frame ornately embelished. 
 
Imagine it on M'Lady's boudoir dressing table, her watch hung from the internal hook admired in its beauty from front and each side.
 
It stands 4.5" tall to the top of the handle, .2.5" wide and 2" deep.
