A choice of three sugar tongs, all found in France,as well as being useful for serving small morcels, not just sugar cubes, they are highly decorative and make an attractive styling prop.

Starting with the first photograph from left to right;

Tongs one unusually has spoon shaped grips. The hallmark appears to date it back to the Victorian period, it has a deep gunmetal patina but the quality of the metal and the depth of the ornate design indicate it is of superior quality. It would polish to a shine if required.

Tongs 2 have a lot of wera to the silverplate and have attractive claw feet. They probably date to teh early 1930s or late 1920s. They are a lighter weight metal than the first tongs.

Tongs three have a beautiful floral design, probably a little older than the second pair, dating to the turn of the century. They have paw grips wih fur and claw detailing. There ois plate wear from polishing over the years amd a French silver plate hallmark.

All tongs are 5.5" long
