A beautiful old French ochre hand crafted pottery bowl in warm ochre yellow with draining holes. It would have been used to drain the whey making soft cheese or simply as a berry bowl.
 
It has seen much use in a French kitchen,  it is delightfully crazed and has a patch of glaze missing on the rim and a bare patch on the top of the bowl.  Underneath it has a rim to raise the bowl off the counter to allow liquid to drain away and there is a chip here too. 
 
The signs of use are the story of its long life and bring a decided charm to this beautiful piece.
