A much revered icon of Saint Therese of Lisieux. It was bought from Maison Bleue, a shop selling religious  objects, owned by A Noël which was close to the Church of Notre Dame des Victoires in Paris' 2nd Arrondisement. Please see the old photograph of the shop. 
 
It is made of gilded wood with carved and raised areas on the frame around a photographic image of Saint Therese with two angelic children.
 
There are a couple of areas of slight damage , clearly shown in the photographs, the result of years of reverence. 
 
The icon dates from the early to mid 20th century and measures 7" by 4.5" with the address of the supplier gilded on the reverese. Please see the old photograph of the shop for some background information.
