For the smartest of French tables, in a classic 19th century style, antique knife rests in hallmarked silver plate, with wonderfully ornate ends which will definitely enhance your table. They are currently heavily patinated and are a silvery gunmetal colour, they can easily be polished to a shine, but I have left them as the choce is yours.
 
In France, it was and still is considered bad manners to rest your knife on the edge of the plate as it was to let it rest on and dirty the tablecloth - cutlery is still often kept from course to course. Using knife rests as attractive as this was the perfect solution to maintain dining expectiations and embellish the table too.
 
There are two complete sets of 6 initially available. The finials are 2" tall and 2" across the base, giving both stability and impact o0n the table and they are 3.5" long
