A set of three wall mountable early polychromatic Sarreguemines plates, picturing chateaux of the Loire Valley. In addition to the images of the chateaux, there is a fleur de lys heraldic shield with a crown over and wreaths of oak branches and reeds, reflecting their countryside and river settings.
The plated depict: Chateau de Chenonceaux, this one has some lovely age related 'tea staining'; Chateau d'Amboise and Chateau de Chambord. The latter has a chip at the top of the plate, it is included free of charge as it seemed a shame to break up the set.
The plates have the Sarregumines mark on the back which date them between 1875 and the end of the century.
The plates do also have some light crazing, as would be expected. On the back of each are two strung holes, used to hang the plate on the wall.
They measure 8.5" diameter
