A delightful signed oil on board by English painter JS Haslam who lived in Hertfordshire, we know this as her address is on the back, suggesting this was a favourite painting that she had exhibited but wanted returned to her collection and was not for sale.
 
Painted in traditional English style, it pictures wild roses scrambling naturalistically through a hedge and has a pinkish background, that changes colour in different lights, please see the later pictures taken in a rare ray of winter sun! (window frame casting shadow)
 
The picture is not dated but I estimate that it is from the 1950s
 
It is in good condition, with some wear to the back from cobwebs from being hung and measures 10" by 12" plus the frame.
